The library accepts donations of books. Those that the library cannot use are placed in the annual fundraising book sale. Manitou Public Library is a registered charity and issues a receipt for monetary donations. The library also welcomes the donation of items for a Rainbow Raffle held each year.

COLLECTION INFORMATION for Manitou Regional Library
BOOKS
The library currently has over 10,000 books including children's picture and easy-read books, Junior fiction and non-fiction, and Young adult fiction and non-fiction books. Adult fiction books include Romance, Mystery, Western, and Science fiction genres. A large selection of non-fiction books include sections on cooking, gardening, home decorating and renovating, landscaping, health, history, religion and spirituality, amongst others. The library has its own extensive collection of Large Print books, which continues to grow.
MAGAZINES
The library subscribes to over 18 magazines including Better Homes and Gardens, Manitoba Gardener, Good Times, Canadian Living, Country Woman, Reminisce, MacLean's, Canadian Geographic, National Geographic plus many more
DVD and VIDEOS
Manitou Regional Library has a growing selection of videos and DVD's for both adults and children. A selection of titles include Hotel Rwanda, The Secret, Notebook, An Inconvenient Truth, Visions of Italy, Islam: Empire of Faith, Dora the Explorer, Big Sister, The Berenstain Bears Class is Back, Sylvester and the Magic Pebble, and Where the Wild Things are.
AUDIO BOOKS
The growing audio book collection currently has over 175 items.
TALKING BOOKS
Rotating blocks of talking books for the visually impaired are received from Public Library Services on a regular basis.
LOAN INFORMATION
• The loan period for books, magazines, audio books is 3 weeks.• There is no limit on the number of items borrowed.
• Fines for books are .25 per library day, not to exceed $1.50. If a number of books are returned at one time the maximum fine is $5.00.
• The loan period for DVD's and videos is 1 week.
• Five DVD's or videos can be borrowed at one time for each membership card.
• The fine for videos and DVD's is $1.00 per library day, not to exceed $5.00.

• Projector rental is available for a fee of $20.00 for a one week period. A refundable $100.00 deposit is required.
